I had to post some fun pictures from our time at Willowbrook Farm (I wish I had room to upload them all). We always have a great time with Farmer Cheryl, Farmer Dave, Farmer Mary and this year Farmer Neil. At school this week we will add some freshly pressed apple cider from our trip to our snack. YUM!! We will make applesauce and continue discovering animals.
Our letter of the week is "c" for Catina Cat. If you find anything that starts with the sound "c" and would be willing to add it to our sound box, please have your child bring it to class. The sound and motion are the important part of what they are learning right now, not the name of the letter. We will learn that next semester. Practice with your children by searching for things that start with a certain sound, short a, b, and c.
The Jubilee is our next major event coming up October 12th! Our MWF class will have a game booth of Plinko and our TTh class will Bean Bag Toss. Thank you to those who have helped with supplying games and ideas. There is a sign-up sheet in class for setting up, running the booth, and cleaning. Please be sure to get your name on that list! Many hands make light work.
Journals: Our class has journals that travel with them during free choice time. The goal is to encourage the children to try new things by visiting different centers and earning stickers. The Journal Fairy recently visited our class and has checked on how many stickers they are earning. She gave me a report and we will work on encouraging the children to try new centers this week. You can help by asking your child what centers they tried and encouraging them to check out a new center the next time at school.Portfolios: By the end of this month the file folders in my teacher cabinet will have pictures and items for you to start reviewing and scrapbooking. Come check out what your child has been up to and feel free to arrange a time to meet with me to discuss there time at school.
