In class we are exploring the world of animals. Your children had such fun and interesting animals as their favorites that all the teachers agreed this was the topic of choice. Out of 42 children only three said a dog was their favorite animal. Instead I had children say zebras, giraffes, sharks, flamingos... What a well educated group of children. Please encourage your children to share their favorite animal by lending a photo, a drawing, a book, or a stuffed animal to the school.
I want you to know that your contributions to our classroom do not go unnoticed. Thank you for stocking our scrapbooking supplies, donating science books, smocks for painting, helping me get the filing system prepared, and writing the children's names on the birthday candles. All these things and your work on Parent Helper days I appreciate so much. You make a difference at Inland Preschool and in the Dragonfly Class. Thank you!

Important Class Information:
- Share bags are rotating through our students and I ask that you encourage your child to share something that adds to what we are learning. Our theme is animals and our letter of the week is "a", so try to connect with those ideas to help us grow. Also, avoid electronic items and remind your child that share time is at the end of the day and their item will stay in the bag until that time.
- On your work days, remember to arrive by 8:15 and a little earlier for best pick of the centers. Also, we do not have a full-time janitor this year, so your help in cleaning the room keeps our children healthy and well. Remember the toilet closest to our room is our responsibility and it needs the base cleaned as well as the seat.
- Journals: We are going to start having the children get reward stickers for each center they visit for the day to encourage them to visit each center. These journals will travel between home and school. The journal will provide information about your child's day and can be a way for us to communicate. Feel free to write a note to me in it. I will put a post-it on the page we are on.
- Class Pets: Our classroom has two pets and another on the way. We have a frog named Mr. Frog, a guinea pig named Butterscotch, and a fish will be joining us this Friday that the class will help name. Our guinea pig is a traveling pet that you may sign-up to take home for the weekend. There is a travel bag and cage. Sign-up at the door.
