Happy New Year! I am so glad to be back in class with all my preschool friends. How they all grew up over break. I want to thank all of you for making Christmas special and for the kindness shown. I had a great birthday and my Christmas break was one of enjoying my precious family.
Now onto our exciting semester. We are continuing with our letter sounds and starting to spell as well. You would not believe my excitement as the children brainstorm words that begin with the "letter of the week". We are making very long lists! This month we are learning about bears in their dens and how they hibernate. We are also learning about penguins and how they are just the same size as a preschooler!
TOP SECRET! Do not share this information with your child. This month we are having our big Unbirthday Party bash, next week, January 17 and 18. Be sure to donate something for this special event. Instead of having celebrations throughout the year, we are doing one big bash and recognizing all of the children. We have an amazing day planned, filled with celebration (be forewarned that there will be a large amount of sugar - i.e./ super sized cupcakes and a lifesize Candyland game with treats). We will need extra parent help if you can be there. :-)
