Let's Start the New School Year

Dear families,
It was wonderful to visit those of you who were able to attend the meet-and-greet. I am excited about our year ahead. Here are some tips for nervous classmates and a list of supplies for the first day of school:
  • Start preparing your children for school by discussing their feelings and being a patient listener without jumping in to fix things.
  • Be careful not to down play your child's fears, but show them a new perspective and encourage them to try it.
  • As the day approaches start to run through the morning routine. The night before plan for what they will wear, pack their bag, and get them to bed early. During drop-off create a routine that your child will come to expect.
  • Most importantly, believe in your child's ability to succeed. Your belief will strengthen them.
Supplies:
  • Please provide your child with a backpack or bag with a change of clothes. These clothes will remain in their bag and only be used when needed. Be sure they always have a fresh change of clothes and alter it as the weather grows colder.
  • Most importantly invest time in your child and our school to ensure it is a wonderful year.
Power Hour Opportunities (4 work hours that all parents need to meet):
  1. Need my texture table to be sanded, stained, and sealed.
  2. Know how to sew? Need cushions for my rocking chair. I have all of the supplies.
  3. Need black circles painted on my dramatic play stove top.
