Our class has spent a lot of time discussing what is and what is not recyclable, reusing materials to do activities in class, and reducing the amount of supplies used. Many of you have shared how your children have become huge advocates of recycling at home. It is so rewarding for me to hear the positive impact that our class is making in your child's lives. We had our tour of the Highland Library which is a role model of how to reuse resources and reduce our negative impact on the earth. Hope you enjoyed it. This is the last week to bring your recycling into class so that we can donate more money to the "Save the Parks" drive at Stater Brothers. This Wednesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 19, we will celebrate Earth Day with fun activities and have your children "go all out" in green (green clothes, green hair clips, green hats, even green hair). After class you have the option to take your child to Stater Brothers with me to turn in our donation. More details will be given in class.
**No School This Friday - April 20th** It is a District Calendar Day Off
We will follow this environmental study with a study of the great outdoors. Our focus will be on insects and plants. See the Wish List tab and the Giving Tree in class for items that can be donated.
Thank you for meeting with me for our parent/teacher conferences. The difficult part for me was realizing that the year is almost over and how much I will miss all of you. Thank you for making this a great year and for entrusting me with your children.
