Gearing Up for the First Day

Dear families,
It was wonderful to visit those of you who were able to attend the meet-and-greet play day on August 2nd. I am getting excited about our year ahead. Here are some tips and a list of supplies for the first day of school:

  • Start preparing your children now by discussing how they feel about school and being a patient listener without jumping in to fix things.
  • Stay calm and reassure your child by showing them your confidence in the school you have chosen.
  • Be careful not to down play your child's fears, but show them a new perspective and encourage them to try it.
  • As the day approaches start to run through the morning routine. The night before plan for what they will wear, pack their bag, and get them to bed early.
  • Most importantly, believe in your child's ability to succeed. Your belief will strengthen them.
Supplies:

  • Please provide your child with a backpack or bag that they can carry a change of clothes in. These clothes will remain in their bag and only be used when needed. Be sure they always have a fresh change of clothes and alter it as the weather grows colder.
  • Print a family photo that can stay at school with them. We will be creating an "All About Me" page.
  • Most importantly invest time into your child and our school to ensure it is a wonderful year.
