Our school's primary goal is to meet the needs of each child where they are developmentally and to provide a safe environment where children feel free to learn and explore. After several weeks at school our staff has felt that the children are struggling too much and are not feeling safe and secure. We also want to have a closer eye on snack time due to allergies and dietary restrictions. To change this we are completely revising our schedule to the following beginning this Monday:
8:15 Parent helpers arrive/ pick curriculum center
8:20 - 8:40 Teacher/ Parent helper meeting plus prepare your center
8:30 Sign child in with teacher at outside picnic table by classroom door/ child sign-in area
From drop-off until 8:40 Outside play
8:40 Gather class to go indoors
8:45 - 9:10 Circle Time
9:10 - 9:40 Dragonfly Class only has free choice outside (parents go to your centers)
9:40 - 10:10 Dragonfly Class only has free choice inside (parents stay at your centers)
10:10 - 10:20 Clean up and gather children back in classroom
10:20 - 10:30 Class chores
10:30 - 10:50 Wash hands and sit at table for snack (inside organized snack)
(While children are eating their snack please sit with them and enjoy conversation. You may even partake in the snack if you wish.)
10:50 - 11:15 Group A - to the rug, Group B - quiet activities with parent leaders
11:15 - 11:20 Switch
11:20 - 11:45 Group A - to quiet activities with parent leaders, Group B - rug
11:45 - 11:50 Clean up and remove name tags
11:50 - 12:00 Music/ movement

Will the kids still go to other classes for free choice centers inside?
