We have enjoyed dressing up as animals who live in and around trees - our snake costume and tails are a big hit. We brought out the tunnel for the children to crawl though like animals who burrow. Many children have taken on parental roles with our little classroom birds by building nests and "feeding them". We made bird feeders that will be hung outside our classroom window next week. We hope to attract some bird friends.
We will continue discussing animals living in trees with our focus being birds, especially the woodpecker, and start discussing how trees grow. We will look at the stages of growth and do experiments. If anyone has any expertise in the growth of trees or great books, etc. to share with our class, please let me know. We welcome all of our families to add to the classroom learning experience. Together we can help our children learn and grow in a collaborative way.
